Another good idea is to google the agents names that you are considering to see how much web presence they have.

Ask for references. If you are considering a particular real estate agent, ask them to provide you with names and contact information of past clients. A real estate investment is one of the largest and most important purchases you'll make in your lifetime. An honest agent who has your best interest in mind will be more than understanding of that fact.

How familiar is your agent with the area you are considering? Many agents attempt to sell property that they really don't have the qualifications to answer questions about. Simply look up the address in question on Google Search, Once the map comes up look for the tab entitled Street View. This will provide you with an actual street level view of the front of the house. It will allow you to double check on the homes photos online. With Google search you will be able to see what is next door to the home in question.

Once you have found a real estate agent that you want to work with, have them set you up on to automatically receive new properties directly to your email according to you specific parameters. You'll be able to choose price range, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, waterfront, pool, etc. This will greatly reduce the amount of time you have to spend searching for property online.

Thanks for such useful information, many people fall in the trap of fraud agents. Checking the license and before agreement doing meeting also helps to know whom are dealing with.
